When you're planning to market your business to thousands of golfers at one of Europe's largest consumer golf events, it's probably best to give some thought to how your message is going to be heard.

What activities before the show are going to tell people that you will be there?

What offers, special events, activities and promotions are going to help you attract the golfers with whom you want to talk?

How are you going to stand out from the crowd?

The show attracts vast numbers of potential customers and we all need to maximise the opportunity with promotions, public relations and marketing.

So, think special offers, added value, competitions, data capture and data management, incentives, pre- and post-show press, special events, etc. It may be that you want some promotions staff to help attract a crowd; or perhaps you could use a golf game on your stand, to create another reason to visit?

It's all about giving people more reasons to come to your stand and then engage them in discussion... and ultimately, make a sale. Other matters to consider are pre-show activities like web links, advertising, press releases and joint marketing ventures with other exhibitors. Utilise exsisting or new databases to let potential customers know that you will be at the show. Give them an incentive to visit and later, a thankyou for visiting. Make the show work for you.
