Successful start to sixth London Golf SHow

Hundreds of golfers packed the concourse at Docklands’ ExCeL centre ahead of the opening of the sixth annual London Golf Show and they were not disappointed when the doors to the golfing extravaganza opened.

Once again visitors were treated to a world of golfing goodies and a host of opportunities to swing clubs, giving them the opportunity to see the entire golfing spectrum under one roof, until 4pm on Sunday.

Big brands including Callaway, Nike, TaylorMade, Yonex and Wilson are on hand showcasing their latest equipment on the enormous driving range and letting golfers test the clubs for themselves with great deals being offered in the huge Nevada Bob’s store and an on-site custom fitting service available.

Ryder Cup tickets are among the myriad prizes available at the event, with the show’s interactive features also boasting five-star holidays and top-of-the-range equipment to give away. If this weren’t enough, every visitor can get a free round of golf at Ilford Golf Club and will receive access to a range of discounted tee times at courses across the UK and overseas.

Short-game guru Dave Pelz, who counts Masters champion Phil Mickelson among his clients, is giving tips and putting masterclasses to visitors on the first two days, while a dedicated team of PGA professionals is offering free coaching throughout the event, courtesy of the England Golf Partnership which is backing the show through the PGA, English Golf Union, English Women’s Golf Association and Golf Foundation.

In addition the show features golf trick shot displays, celebrity appearances and interviews on the main stage, the latest golfing gadgets, hottest fairway fashions and almost everything else a golfer could want.

The London Golf Show 2010 began on Friday, April 30, and runs until 4pm on Sunday, May 2. Advance tickets cost just £10 and can be bought up until midnight before the day you wish to attend by calling 0844 847 1650, or visiting www.londongolfshow.com.
